Warm-Up 3/6

The message of my poster is to say no to racism. I chose this current issue because although many may believe that racism is not as brutal as it used to be, it's still out there. I chose the pictures to remind everyone of the period of turmoil in the 60's and 70's when segregation was coming to an end. I chose Thierry Henry to be at the top of my poster because he is a key figure in the movement against racism in Europe. I placed a picture of Martin Luther King Jr. underneath him in order to kind of say that Thierry is doing the samething as Mr. King except in modern times and in Europe. I put the words "say no to racism" in the middle to reitirate the message that the poster is sending. If I could change anything about my poster I might change the picture of Thierry Henry. I would only do this because many people in America have no clue who he is. So, the impact might not be as great compared to those in Europe. So, if I could find an American that is showing as much emotion as Thierry then I would replace him.

Chip, I have to say that I love the fact that you chose such a strong topic and decided to do your poster on it. I think your poster caught my attention the most and you did a great job on it. The black and white pictures were the strongest to me because they were in black and white. I think you did a good job and you are creative. :)
