ACCCCCCC

I was never really into animal collective until I heard their new song "Brothersport" that's coming out on their new album in January. But, damnnn they are awesome. Another song off their new album was leaked today and it is equally as awesome. I'm so excited for their new album. Hot damn. Here's their new song "My Girls."
(Sorry I tried to set up a click through link but it doesn't want to agree with me today so I'll just throw in the link down below.)

Here.

Decisions Decisions

I decided that I will keep both of my blogs and just use this one for sharing my thoughts and use the other to share cool things that I stumble upon on the internet.

HMMMMM....

Lately I've been blogging(or tumblring) a lot on tumblr. It's a lot easier to repost pictures and what have you so I decided to just move on over there BUT the only problem is that there really isn't a lot of writing going on. People just put up pictures and reblog them and don't really say much. It's kind of lame in a way because noone talks. People just express themselves through the photographs and quotes that they reblog. So, I'm stuck with a predicament on whether to stay on tumblr or move back here or start blogging on this one again. I'm not sure what to do because usually I don't really have a lot to say. So, I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Times

Mother Mary Pray for me I know not what I've done
I can't feel your touch

At times when I need you
I feel like I'm bleeding from my eyes
And I cry save me Jesus Christ.

Bad Day.

You Caught Me

From time to time when I log on to my blog I find myself gazing at the picture at the top of this page. It engulfs into memories and visions of the most beautiful place I have yet to be in my entire life. Thinking about it makes me smile and for a moment or to I can escape the prison cell sized room I live in and the other things that are pulling me down in my life. It's amazing what photographs can do. So, as an ode to O'Canada I'm going to post more pictures from my summer adventure.

Hey you,
I see you in my dreams.

In The Dark

demo_TRAVERSE from Sébastien Rippon on Vimeo.

Here's a beautiful short film set to the song "Hands In The Dark" by Chromatics. The video fits perfectly with the song and is very pleasing to the eye.

Animal Collective released the tracklist for their upcoming album "Merriweather Post Pavilion." The album is due out in January and you can view the tracklist off gorillavsbear.net.

Other than that there's not much going on. Pitchfork is releasing a book about their top 500 favorite songs from 1976 to present. Should be pretty exciting. Sike. I've been watching the economy go to shambles as the weather has been quite dreary for the past two days. Oh well. Enjoy the weekend.

Whig

Deparment of Eagles Lp "In Ear Park" came out today. You could've gotten it earlier due to itunes but the actual release date was today. I really like the LP. It's basically Grizzly Bear which is not a bad thing at all. Here's a video from La Blogotheque. The song is "No One Does It Like You." The video is really cool. Its just Daniel Rossen walking around Chinatown.

Also, Fleet Foxes has been playing a new song called "Silver City." Here's a video of it from a recent show:

Sorry, I haven't been posting a lot lately. I've been busy with school work and just haven't really had the urge or the material to talk about anything. Fall Break starts tomorrow. Thank God. I need a break.

Mixed-Up Martin(8!)/The Weekend

Went to Charleston over the weekend to visit my beautiful. Wreaked havoc around the city with some friends on our bikes and also rode Critical Mass on Friday. Overall a great time.

The Heist and The Accomplice is supposedly going to get their music video up on Pitchfork.tv.Great news for them.

Here's a video of some guys mashing with Lance Armstrong in Austin, Texas. Kind of boring if you don't enjoy watching some guys haul ass on their fixies but I enjoy it.

Also, a friend told me about this type of graffiti called reverse graffiti in which some guys just run around with pressure washers or just a rag and go to dirty walls in urban areas and do their artwork on the dirty areas. It's a good way to clean up cities and to keep graffiti artists out of trouble. Here's two videos of it:

I also found a pretty rad video of some light graffit:

Oh and while on the topic of graffiti whoever writes "ACE" in Charleston please stop writing cause you're fucking awful and your "toyish" tag is up everywhere and is quite the eye sore. So, please FUCK OFF.

Propaganda

The last couple of days has been filled with Grizzly Bear playing nonstop. Don't know why I overlooked them in the past. I could never really connect with Yellow House but after giving it another listen nearly two years after its release I'm fascinated with it. I can't wait for their new album, whenever it comes out, cause the two new songs theu have put up (one of them being the video above) have been phenomenal.

Here's a video from my friends band called The Heist and the Accomplice. In my opinion one of the only true talented bands in South Carolina at the moment. All members coming from Columbia(Sc) the band is super catchy and very hard to put into one genre. Also, the leader singer and the lead guitarist both have their own solo projects which are even better than the band in my opinion. Here is the head singer's,Chaz, side project toro y moi. Check em out.

In other news, Arsenal cruised to a stunning 6-0 win over Sheffield United yesterday. Arsene Wenger fielded the youngest squad ever with an average of just 19. Carlos Vela had a hat trick while Nicolas Bendnter had two goals and Jack Wilshire(just 16 years of age) got on the score sheet as well. Here are some highlights from the match:

Warm-Up 3/6

The message of my poster is to say no to racism. I chose this current issue because although many may believe that racism is not as brutal as it used to be, it's still out there. I chose the pictures to remind everyone of the period of turmoil in the 60's and 70's when segregation was coming to an end. I chose Thierry Henry to be at the top of my poster because he is a key figure in the movement against racism in Europe. I placed a picture of Martin Luther King Jr. underneath him in order to kind of say that Thierry is doing the samething as Mr. King except in modern times and in Europe. I put the words "say no to racism" in the middle to reitirate the message that the poster is sending. If I could change anything about my poster I might change the picture of Thierry Henry. I would only do this because many people in America have no clue who he is. So, the impact might not be as great compared to those in Europe. So, if I could find an American that is showing as much emotion as Thierry then I would replace him.
